I painted this on location in Asthall in the Cotswolds

contrasting with the dark cliffs in the foreground

and I could see the gnarly branches silhouetted against the dusky sky

I wanted to capture the incredible view and the way the light of the golden hour hit the peaks beyond the Low Water tarn
